#1 ADHD PROBLEM YOU’RE FACING AND HOW TO FIX IT FAST.

Daily tasks for any person with ADHD IS HARD.

It’s no secret.

Procrastinating tasks you hate and even ones you love a lot is common in ADHD’ers. Also, constantly thinking about an idea/ or your brain wondering off.

Now I must say that for me, this has gotten a lot better.

I’m able to channel my thoughts into actions in a controlled way that doesn’t suppress my idea thinking ADHD gift.

I am far more rested as I have figured out the hours that I am most productive and even plan on writing about it very soon on this blog.

But don’t get me wrong my ADHD is still very much present. I’m still queen of 40 tabs open, and forgetting the clothes in the washer. I try starting multiple things at the same time and then get frustrated I’m not superwoman or something.

Even so, I am still grateful that I have learned to live with my ADHD in a positive way.

But that has not always been the case.

Before I was diagnosed with ADHD, I wondered why I spent so much time day dreaming. I never really consciously thought it was a problem (because it isn’t).

And I always wondered why I spent so much time thinking about one thing and never really got around to doing it.

It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with ADHD that I realized how often I procrastinated ideas I wanted to execute. This realization led me to find solutions.

And of course, it also took a coach and a community of adults living with ADHD to change my mindset, love on myself, and figure out things that worked for me consistently.

Then I finally started my business and noticed that the one thing a lot of people were complaining about was that they weren’t taking actions on their ideas.

They wanted to, but couldn’t give themselves enough motivation to do so.

I could feel the frustration in them.

Having all these great ideas and not having an outlet or a method to execute them can be overwhelming. Especially when you’re staring at the task from the couch unable to move.

And the worst part is it’s a constant cycle happening in our ADHD brain. An idea pops into our brains, we plot on how we’re going to take action, the motivation slowly but surely going down, no task is done to actualize the idea and then boom, again, another brilliant idea.

In fact, that cycle used to get me so frustrated because I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t getting anything done.

And so when I found out a lot of the people were struggling with the same thing I had been struggling with, it was such an AHA moment for me.

I thought of how frustrated I was and I just wanted to help.

So that’s what I’ll be sharing with you.

How to overcome this 1 ADHD challenge

When you’ve got ADHD, your brain is more of an over planner and an overthinker.

You think of all the possible solutions to the problem and how they will be executed in a perfectly neat little box that will be perfect —- hahahaha —— don’t we all love doing that?

But the only problem with this is that you become overly obsessed with your idea being perfect that you never even execute it. Then, you end up overwhelming yourself with that perfect plan that you don’t get anything done.

Seeing all the decisions we could make can lead us to get paralyzed and want to just think about something else.

And that’s why if you have ADHD, taking messy action on a daily basis can help you beat this one problem that affects us all.

It’s the one thing that can help us get things done faster.

But here’s what I don’t mean by that...

Messy actions are not mindless actions that don’t have a direction or an end goal. They are more so a strategy that allows you to do a specific task without stressing on how perfect it is.

And the one way I found to be able to beat this (not that I have perfected the art) is by figuring out why I can’t seem to do it and then checking myself.

Here are the 5 reasons that kept holding me back and could be the reason that you’re not taking action.

REASONS WHY YOU NEVER TAKE ACTION AS A PERSON WITH ADHD .

  1. You’re afraid of the outcome - What if it fails?

  2. Your perfectionism tells you to procrastinate it until you have the full energy to do it.

  3. Fear of the unknown - The market or my desire might change when I start doing it.

  4. I just need to gather more information, I don’t feel ready.

  5. Chronic self doubt - What if I’m not able to pull it off?

These are all just fears. They are made up scenarios that your brain has convinced itself are real.

And these thoughts are usually disruptive but the one way you can get over it is by doing one messy action every day.

Practice makes perfect.

With time, you’ll find that you’ve accomplished more than you ever thought you would.

Plus, your actions will bring more clarity to which direction you want your idea to take.

Remember: There is no right or wrong, there is just decision.

Decisions may not be able to be taken back. But new ones can be made.

Choose something today and if tomorrow comes and you see a better fit then make the new decision. Life is about trial & error. No failures just lessons.

You got this, friend!
